Objective
Every year, the Medieval Institute provides three $750 stipends to scholars who wish to visit Notre Dame and consult its extensive collection of microfilms and other materials that reproduce the holdings of the Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan. All grants are made at the discretion of the Medieval Institute's director and are awarded based on the research project description and how consultation with the Ambrosiana Archive will advance the applicant's work. Stipends may be used to help cover the costs of travel, lodging, microfilm reproduction, photoduplication, and other expenses associated with Institute research.
Eligibility:
Advanced graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and established scholars are all eligible. Scholars may reapply for stipends each year, but successful applicants can only receive one stipend per year. Please keep in mind that, as part of the university's COVID-19 response, this program is currently only accepting applications from US citizens and permanent residents travelling within the US.
