Essay Competition in Constitutional Law, 2017

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), is conducting Essay Competition in Constitutional Law, 2017. It has gained a lot of recognition over the past years ever since 1997, at the inception. The topic for the competition this year is "EXPANSIVE INTERPRETATION OF THE TERM ‘LIFE’ UNDER ARTICLE 21". 

Eligibility:

• Applicants of Essay Competition in Constitutional Law, 2017 should be LL.B. / B.A., LL.B. / BBA, LLB. students.
• Candidates applying for Essay Competition in Constitutional Law, 2017 must be studying in any of the recognized Law Schools / Colleges / Departments of the Universities in India
• The winner gets a gold medal at the annual convocation of NLSIU. 

Essay format and conditions:

• should not be more than 10,000 words
• should be an original
• 30 double-spaced typed pages(approximately), New Times Roman, font size 12
• footnotes and references on one side of A4 size sheet 
• the papers need to be staples with an additional white page at the front and the last
• co-authorship is not permitted
• the envelope containing the essay should be sealed and  superscribed “HM Seervai Gold Medal Essay Competition"
• applicant should produce a bonafide certificate through the Principal or Head of the Institution

• 4 hard copies should be mailed to the following address mentioned
• a soft copy should also be sent at hmse@nls.ac.in by 12 pm
